TAMIU Sets Service Learning Expo Nov. 18

TAMIU students and faculty will have an opportunity to learn about the University’s commitment to service learning at the Third Annual “Service Learning Expo,” scheduled Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

Service learning has become a teaching strategy of significant importance in higher education and provides an educational experience that pairs student credit-bearing courses with organized community service.

At Tuesday’s Service-Learning Expo students will showcase how service-learning enhances academic learning as well as their civic responsibility.  Students will be judged by TAMIU faculty on presentation, reflection of community experience, and overall project design.
