TAMIU-SBDC Begins Management Certification Program March 4

The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will kick off its Small Business Management Certificate Program Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

The TAMIU SBDC developed the Small Business Management Certificate Program to help meet the needs of aspiring small business owners. It helps participants build essential business skills and knowledge to run a successful business.

Topics include: setting the foundation for success; the Art of Starting a Business; Anatomy of a Business Plan; Managing Cash; ABC’s of Government Contracting; Keeping the Books; Understanding your Credit; Internet Marketing and Legal Issues for Micro-Entrepreneurs. Completion of the program will enhance management skills and provide a good foundation for success. 

The program is valued at $500, but those enrolling now pay only the enrollment fee. 

Requirements for completing the program include:  A one-time enrollment fee of $50, attending the required nine courses, completion of two on-line courses, attending a Goal Planning Session and an advising session with an SBDC-Certified Business Advisor.

Upon completion of the program, a reception will be held in honor of the participants. Each will receive an Award Plaque recognizing their accomplishment.
