14 to Receive Oil & Gas Accounting Certificates at TAMIU

A group of 14 students will receive a Certificate in Oil and Gas Accounting from Texas A&M International University’s A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business during a special ceremony Tuesday, May 12 at 4 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 116.

The Sanchez School of Business, accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), offers the 12-semester credit hour Oil and Gas Accounting Certificate Program to provide additional education for business students and professionals who wish to enter the global oil and gas industry.

Receiving certificates at the ceremony are Doris E. Campuzano; Jessica Michelle Carrizales;  Krystal Lynn Domínguez; Cristal Flores;  Lesley Astrid García Delgado; Valentín García, Jr.;  Dereck Bryan Garza; José Angel Gómez; Mayte Villanueva González; Mayra Leticia López; Oscar O. Martínez; Jorge Manuel Presas; Loreleen L. Vásquez; and Jordan Wise.

Taught by leading oil and gas industry experts, the program introduces students to fundamental, functional skills in accounting and exposes them to oil and gas industry opportunities available.

Students also learn the importance of the oil and gas industry for the U.S. economy, the industry’s various accounting aspects, and elements of oil and gas exploration and production.

Instructors for the four courses in the Certificate Program include Cliffe Killam, partner, corporate planning and business development, Killam Oil Company; Oscar Cisneros, vice president for Texas Community Bank; Donato Ramos Jr., partner, Law Offices of Donato D. Ramos; and José Luis Ceballos, founder and owner of Totem LLC.
