TAMIU Presents Job Fairs, Educational Advancement Events

 

All welcome at Job Fairs, Ed Advancement Events
 

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will present several job fairs as well as career and educational advancement events during the coming weeks.

The events are free and open to TAMIU students, alumni and the public, said Celina Maniece, TAMIU director of Employer Relations.

Participants are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their résumé and dress in business professional attire, she said.

The events include the following:

  • Government and Social Services Career Fair -- Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 1- 4 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.  Local, state and national employers from government and social services industries will promote employment and internship opportunities in their agencies.
  • Experiential Learning/Internship OrientationMonday, Nov. 2, from 10-11:30 a.m., Student Center Upstairs Ballroom. Local employers searching for well-informed, energetic students to help grow their organizations with paid/unpaid internships as well as experiential learning opportunities for students will be present.
  • School District Career Fair – Thursday, Nov. 5, from 1-4 p.m., Student Center Rotunda. This bi-annual event will draw more than 20 local and state school districts offering current employment opportunities. Some school districts provide increased salary compensation for bilingual applicants.
  • Graduate and Professional School Fair – Thursday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Student Center Rotunda. Recruiters from over 30 graduate and professional schools will be available to answer questions about admissions requirements, test information and offer advice about how to network.

Maniece said that registration requirements and fees may apply for employers. Employers interested in participating are encouraged to contact her to receive detailed information and registration instructions.
