TAMIU Hosts Laredo Premiere of ‘The American Nurse’

American Nurse

Chances are you’ve been treated by a nurse or even know a nurse or two.

To honor nurses, Texas A&M International University will hold a special screening for “The American Nurse,” a feature length documentary that depicts the lives of five fearless nurses who serve on the front lines of healthcare, navigating their patients through birth, death, prison, war, and harsh poverty.

The screening is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Student Center Auditorium 236.

General admission is $10 per person and free for students with a valid ID.

Tickets may be purchased in Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center 137 or www.tinyurl.com/tamiutickets.

            Seating is limited.

Continuing education credits will be available after the screening at www.tinyurl.com/tamiunurse.

The film follows five nurses from “The American Nurse Project,” a book that captured photographs and narratives of nurses that aims to inspire audiences to think about nurses in a way that they may never have before, and with a new appreciation for nurses.

“The American Nurse” premiered to sold out crowds during National Nurses’ Week 2014 nationwide.

This event is sponsored by Laredo Medical Center and Doctors Hospital.
