A Second Session of Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) popular Rec Sports Summer Camp begins Monday, July 3 – 20, Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon daily for campers ages 5 – 13.

The University will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 in a State-authorized holiday observance.

Cost is $240 per child.  A $30 discount is available to children of TAMIU alumni, current students, faculty and staff.

Pre-planned activities administered by Camp counselors are keenly focused, said TAMIU Rec Sports director Robert Garza.

“Our goal is to help children develop social, physical and health-conscious attitudes in a positive and cooperative atmosphere. Our daily Camp schedule will include word of the day activity and Superhero leadership discussions, recreational games, dance fitness activities, on-campus Planetarium visits, a fine arts showcase, and much more.  We will also be providing healthy snacks daily,” Garza noted.

Children should arrive each day with the appropriate footwear (sneakers/tennis shoes-- no sandals or flip- flops), sports attire (shorts/T-shirt), bug spray, sunscreen and cap/hat for outdoor activities.

Camp drop off begins at 7:30 a.m. in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center parking lot.
