TAMIU Welcomes 27 New Faculty Members This Fall

Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Fall semester began Tuesday, welcoming thousands of students and 27 new faculty members who will help deliver the University’s mission in classrooms. 

TAMIU provost and vice president for Academic Affairs Dr. Tom Mitchell said the new faculty are joining the University’s five Colleges and Schools from a variety of universities and most hold the highest degree in their field.

“We have an impressive group of new faculty who join us this semester.  They are the result of nationwide searches and we’re eager to provide them with an opportunity to share their insight and guidance for our students. Over 98% hold the highest terminal degree in their discipline, bringing additional depth and research expertise that further distinguishes our students’ learning experience here,” Dr. Mitchell said.

The new faculty, their respective Colleges and Schools and degrees/institutions earned from, are as follows:

College of Arts and Sciences– Heather Alaniz, assistant professional of Criminal Justice, Ph.D., Texas Southern University; Kaitlyn M. Culliton, visiting assistant professor of English, Ph.D., Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland; Jared R. Dmello, assistant professor of Criminal Justice, Ph.D., University of Massachusetts, Lowell; Abigail Meert, assistant professor of History, Ph.D., Emory University;  Pamela J. Neumann, assistant professor of Sociology, Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin and Nathaniel R. Racine, visiting assistant professor of English, Ph.D., Temple University.
