Consistent with its ongoing COVID-19 response, Texas A&M International University’s Initiation of New Members for the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society will be presented virtually in an online ceremony Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 6 p.m.

Some 70+ members will be initiated in Chapter 296, said Phi Kappa Phi president Dr. Lola Norris, TAMIU associate professor of Spanish and Translation.

“This is one of our largest group of initiates and will be our first Virtual Initiation. Family and friends will be able to watch our Ceremony online from anywhere,” she noted.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society.

Phi Kappa Phi annually inducts approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni.

Once inducted, Phi Kappa Phi members gain a lifelong passport to a global network of academic and professional opportunities.

TAMIU’s Chapter 296 was first installed in 2005.
