‘Guitarras de Navidad’ Welcomes Holidays at TAMIU

 

Guitarras de Navidad Concert
 

“Guitarras de Navidad,” live music to usher in the holiday season, will take place Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall. 

Admission is free and open to the community. 

The performance concludes a month of live music offerings from TAMIU’s College of Arts and Sciences’ department of Fine and Performing Arts.  “Guitarras de Navidad” is an annual seasonal tradition at TAMIU and the Nov. 30 performance is the 20th offering.

The performance features the TAMIU Classical Guitar Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Gilberto D. Soto. 

Special guests include University Organist Dr. Colin Campbell and the TAMIU Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dana Crabtree.

The evening’s program features Christmas music guitar arrangements and holiday music from various composers and genres. While on campus, the use of face-coverings is highly recommended and social distancing will be observed.

TAMIU semester finals begin Wednesday, Dec. 1 and graduation ceremonies are Thursday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.  at the Sames Auto Arena.

Registration for Spring Semester 2022 is underway. Classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022.  Late registration ends Monday, Jan. 24, 2022.
