TAMIU Faculty Awards Recognize 555+ Years of Service to University
As students head to classes this Fall at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), they will be welcomed by a faculty that recently received Faculty Service Awards recognizing over 555 years combined of service to TAMIU.
The faculty members were acknowledged at the recent Fall Faculty & Staff Assembly in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
TAMIU Provost Dr. Tom Mitchell and President Dr. Pablo Arenaz recognized Service Award recipients who have completed 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10 and five years of Service to the University. Each also received a plaque acknowledging their service.
The 35 Year Service Award recipient was Dr. Jerry Thompson, Regents Professor and Professor of History.
The 30-year Service Awards were received by Dr. Robert W. Haynes, Professor of English, and Rebecca R. Litman, Administrative Associate IV.
Earning 25 Year Service Awards were Dr. José Cardona-López, Professor of Spanish; Miguel San Miguel, Lecturer, department of Mathematics and Physics, and Dr. Jennifer Coronado, Dean of the Graduate School.
Recognized with 20 Year Service Awards were Vivian I. García, Clinical Assistant Professor, College of Nursing and Health Sciences; Dr. Mehnazz Momen, Associate Professor of Political Science; Jessie M. Mena, Clinical Assistant Professor, College of Nursing and Health Sciences; Dana H. Crabtree, Lecturer in Voice; Dr. Marvin E. Bennett, associate professor, School of Engineering and Dr. Kevin Lindberg, Associate Provost.
Faculty members earning 15 Year Service Awards included Dr. Kyung-Shin Park, Associate Professor of Kinesiology; Dr. Mónica E. Muñoz, Associate Professor of Psychology; Dr. Heriberto García, Instructional Associate Professor of Finance; San Juanita Hernández, Clinical Assistant Professor, College of Nursing and Health Sciences; Dr. Paul J. Niemeyer, Associate Professor of English; Dr. Ruby Ynalvez, Associate Professor of Biology; Malynda M. Dalton, Reference/Access Services Librarian; Lilia P. Cantú, Lecturer, University College and Jonathan Martínez, Lecturer, University College.
Ten Year Service Awards were shared by Dr. Jean Paul Tadoum, Senior Professional, German and French; Dr. Kameron R. Jorgensen, Associate Professor Chemistry; Dr. Mahmoud T. Khasawneh, Associate Professor and Director of The School of Engineering; Dr. Jonathan W. Murphy, Associate Professor of English; Dr. James A. Moyer, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Fine and Performing Arts; Dr. Ray Garza, Jr., Assistant Professor of Psychology; Dr. Lina M. De La Garza, Lecturer, Business Communication; Dr. José C. Lozano, Professor and Chair, Department of Psychology and Communications and Dr. Simon Zschirnt, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Social Sciences.
Faculty recognized with five-year Service Awards included Dr. Constant L. Yayi, Assistant Professor , International Banking & Finance; Dr. Jee Eun Ahn, Assistant Professor of Dance; Dr. Hongwei Wang, Assistant Professor of Mathematics; Dr. Adriana Blasco-Rubio, Instructional Assistant Professor of Psychology; Dr. Mark T. Boseman, Assistant Professor of Percussion; Thomas R. Brown, Instructional Assistant Professor of Communication; Dr. Li Z. Brooks, Associate Professor of Accounting; Dr. Nathaniel P.
