TAMIU, Academic Partnerships Co-Present at HACU’s 36th Annual Conference
LAREDO, TX –– Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and Academic Partnerships (AP) presented at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) 36th Annual Conference, held Oct. 8-10, 2022.
Dr. Jennifer Coronado, dean of TAMIU’s Graduate School, Dr. James O’Meara, TAMIU dean of the College of Education and Diana Childress, vice president of University Partnerships at AP were co-presenters at the Conference. Their presentation, titled “Connecting Employer Needs with Online Learning – Driving Positive Student Outcomes,” looked at how the needs and expectations of employers and students have changed dramatically over the past couple of years.
“By optimizing its online educational programs, TAMIU is finding ways to connect employers and potential employees, driving successful outcomes for our students in the process,” said Dr. Coronado.
HACU’s Annual Conference provided a unique forum for the sharing of information and ideas for the best and most promising practices in the education of Hispanics. The Conference goals included:
- Showcasing successful, effective, and exemplary programs and initiatives of HACU member institutions (of which, TAMIU is one);
- Promoting and expanding partnerships and strategic alliances for collaboration between HACU member institutions and public- and private-sector organizations; and
- Discussing emerging trends in higher education affecting Hispanics and Hispanic-serving institutions (HSI), such as distance learning, student-centered learning, outcomes assessment, and cross-national accreditation.
