TAMIU @ LC Day Celebrated

TAMIU Open House at LC, an opportunity for Laredo College (LC) students to explore their transfer opportunities at their hometown University, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), was held at LC Tuesday, March 21 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  outside the Kazen Center.

TAMIU acting vice president for Student Success Juan G. García, Jr., said the collaborative event was all about sharing opportunities for students to advance.

“Laredo College contributes significantly to TAMIU’s transfer student population and we’re excited to be able to share study and transfer opportunities with LC students. We know they are bright, committed, and determined to succeed…the perfect formula to continue their undergraduate degrees at TAMIU," García said.

“We especially appreciate the collaboration and hospitality that has been extended to us by LC and hope to be able to offer similar opportunities in the future,” he continued.

LC students had access to TAMIU service representatives from admissions, financial aid as well as academic representatives from the University’s six Colleges and Schools.

“Our aim was to streamline their consideration of TAMIU and we hope that transfer students are able to transition from Palominos to Dustdevils in the future,” García concluded.
