TAMIU Student-Led Speaker Forum Celebrates Nuevo León
Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) student-led LULAC chapter will host an upcoming international speaking event highlighting various areas of interest in business, commerce, education and sports.
The LULAC at Texas A&M International University Forum: Nuevo León 2023 is Tuesday, April 11, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium, room 236.
Attendance for the event is free and open to the community.
Speaking on Port Colombia from 11 – 11:45 a.m. is Dr. Marco Antonio González - Secretario de Desarrollo Regional y Agropecuario del Estado de Nuevo León – Director de Corporación para el Desarollo de la Zona Fronteriza de Nuevo León (CODEFRONT)
Representing the Private Sector is Licenciado Mario Palos Garza, CEO of the Palos Garza Group, who will be speaking at noon. Malena Charur, an adjunct faculty member at TAMIU, will focus her remarks on education during her talk at 1 p.m.
Finally, Ulises Campos, or “El Ozo,” a local radio host and Telemundo En Tu Casa co-host, will offer remarks on the sports and entertainment industry at 2 p.m.
As one of the largest and oldest Hispanic organizations in the U.S., LULAC, or the League of United Latin American Citizens, seeks to advance Hispanics' economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights through community-based programs.
