Discover TAMIU Draws Hundreds for Dynamic, Hands-On Campus Experience

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) welcomed hundreds of prospective students, families and community members to campus March 21, for its 12th annual Discover TAMIU, a high-energy open house designed to bring the University experience to life.
The annual event featured more than 100 interactive activities highlighting TAMIU’s academic programs, student life and campus resources. Attendees engaged in a wide variety of experiences, including face painting, do-it-yourself bracelet-making, a fish tank tour and a robotics demonstration, along with music and dance performances and other activities across campus.
Discover TAMIU followed six distinct, segmented “Pathways” for attendees to explore, including Artistic Avenue, Business Boulevard, Friends of TAMIU, the International U, Scientific Journey and Spirited Speedway. Each pathway offered dedicated activities tailored to specific areas of interest, allowing visitors to navigate the University in a personalized and engaging way.
The outreach effort is designed to help the community discover their hometown University and its broad range of degree programs, resources and services available.
Scheiby Gonzalez Fisher, TAMIU associate vice president for Enrollment Management, said the event provided an important opportunity for students and families to experience the University firsthand and begin envisioning their academic future at TAMIU.
"More than an open house, Discover TAMIU serves as an invitation to imagine the future," she said, "For many students and families, the event represents a first step toward pursuing higher education and becoming part of a supportive university community committed to excellence."
The next Discover TAMIU event is scheduled for Spring 2027.
