TAMIU To Celebrate Undergraduate Research Week

 

Undergraduate Research Week
 

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will celebrate Undergraduate Research Week April 20 – 24, 2026. The celebratory work includes a series of events dedicated to supporting students in research activities. Food and special swag items will be available during each event.

The following events are scheduled:

Research Resume Workshop | Monday, April 20 from 3 – 4 p.m., Pellegrino Hall, room 219

Join this workshop to learn, create, and strengthen your scientific or research-oriented resume! The goal of the workshop is to provide tools, structure, and strategies to highlight your scientific skills, research experiences, and academic preparation.

Scholarly Communication Workshop | Tuesday, April 21 from 3 – 4 p.m., Cowart Hall, room 116

Set up your ORCID account and learn about Zotero to help you organize, annotate, and cite research materials.

Lightning Talk Competition | Wednesday, April 22 from 3 – 4 p.m., Academic Innovation Center (AIC), room 127

Learn how current students are engaged in research in this Lighting Talk Competition! Students will have 5-minutes to present a quick overview, key findings and takeaways of their research work.

Graduate Research Showcase | Wed, April 22 from 4 – 6 p.m., AIC Lobby

Hosted jointly by Graduate School, LEARN, and the College of Arts & Sciences Graduate Student Association, the Graduate Research Showcase highlights the breadth and depth of research conducted by TAMIU graduate students across all disciplines and offers opportunities for cross-disciplinary networking. The event will feature a research poster presentation session with a competition, and the top three presenters will be recognized with awards.

Undergraduate Research Week supports the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) LEARN, or Learning Experientially: Active Real-World Navigation, which focuses on enhancing experiential learning opportunities to foster career readiness in undergraduate students.

LEARN is part of the University’s accreditation process and serves as a campus-wide initiative aimed at supporting student success.
