Texas A&M International University will host a series of Open Forums for candidates for the position of Vice President for Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer. The Open Forums will take place April 7 - 9 in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center, room 101. All members of the University community, including alumni, are invited to attend.

Open Forum Schedule:

  • Steve Gregg Kelly, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7

  • Tina Livingston, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 8 (Application Withdrawn)

  • Lee Banda, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9

Steve Gregg Kelly

Steve Gregg Kelly has more than two decades in senior financial leadership roles, including 14 years as Assistant Vice President for Treasury at the University of Arizona. In that role, he directed treasury operations and financial strategy, oversaw banking, capital finance, endowments, investments, forecasting, liquidity management and merchant services to align with institutional goals.

He also serves as the CEO/CFO at SGK Consulting LLC. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance & Investments at Wachovia Security.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance from the University of Arizona.

Lee Banda

Lee Banda, Ed.D. has more than 20 years of experience in higher education finance and administration. He currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Financial Operations and Assistant Chief Financial Officer at Tarleton State University. Previously, he has served in various leadership positions at the University of Texas at Arlington; the University of California, Riverside; the University of California, San Diego; San Diego Community College District and the United States Navy. 

Dr. Banda holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the United States International University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from National University, and a second Bachelor of Science in Business/Management from the University of Phoenix.


Position:

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks a Vice President of Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer (VPFA/CFO) to serve as the institution’s executive financial and business officer. Reporting directly to the President and as a member of the senior leadership team, the VPFA/CFO provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and visionary stewardship of financial, administrative, and business functions to support the institution’s mission, strategic goals, long-term sustainability, and operational effectiveness.

The VPFA/CFO collaborates with individuals across the University with budget responsibility— helping them understand financial systems, align departmental budgets with institutional priorities, and make sound, data-informed decisions that advance the University’s mission. The VPFA/CFO oversees business operations: budget/finance, purchasing and contracts, facilities, campus planning, university police, HR, central plant/physical plant, grants and contracts, IT (through CIO), environmental health and safety, bursar, etc.
