SOCW 4302
Social Work Practice with Organizations and Communities.
Three semester hours.
This course focuses on the generalist model in organizations and communities. The interactional processes and skills necessary to effect change and to advocate with and for others will be emphasized as will theories of social change and models of community organization. Grassroots and community empowerment strategies that build on strengths will be a course focus. Border strategies involving the U.S. and Mexico will be explored. Includes an experiential component. Prerequisites: SOCW 2361, SOCW 3301, SOCW 3303, SOCW 3304, SOCW 3305, SOCW 3306, and SOCW 3307. Admission to the major.
