Ethical/Legal Issues in Nursing
Two semester hours, theory only.

This course focuses on legal and ethical issues in professional nursing to include discussions of the ethical and legal underpinnings of nursing practice. Utilizing case studies, students will have the opportunity to analyze actual legal and ethical situations and dilemmas faced by professional nurses and formulate options for resolving them in accord with ethical and legal standards for healthcare. The course will focus also on the intersection and the interrelationship of law and ethics as it relates to the practice of nursing. To earn credit, this course must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
