Student Health Insurance
Health Insurance for qualifying TAMIU students is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield through Academic Health Plans (AHP). In order for students to qualify for this health insurance, they must be registered/enrolled in the appropriate number of credit hours for each Fall and Spring semester.
Undergraduate students be be enrolled in at least nine (9) credit hours of classes that are part of the student's degree plan each Fall and Sping semester and be in a degree-seeking program.
Graduate students (non-employed) must be enrolled in at least five (5) credit hours of classes that are part of the student's degree plan each Fall and Spring semester.
Voluntary enrollment for domestic students is managed by AHP and can only be completed online during the appropriate enrollment period. You can access an enrollment guide to help you through the enrollment process.
