2When topic changes, course may be repeated only once to fulfill the credit requirement in this area
3The requirement of reading knowledge of a second Romance Language may be met by completing at least six hours of course work with a grade of B or higher in one Romance language (French and Portuguese are currently available at TAMIU) or by passing a departmental reading exam in one Romance Language. This requirement must be met prior to taking the comprehensive exams and beginning work on the thesis.
4Students must take and pass a comprehensive examination over all coursework during the last semester of coursework or the semester immediately following in order to be eligible to register for SPAN 5352.
