ENGL 4390

Issues in the Teaching of English.

Three semester hours. (SP-Odd)

This course addresses current issues in the teaching of English, ranging from pedagogical approaches to the teaching of composition to the theoretical underpinnings of English literature, language, literacy, and rhetoric. Attention is paid to national trends and state standards for individuals planning to teach English Language Arts (ELA) in secondary schools. Prerequisite: Three hours sophomore literature or consent of instructor.
