Dr. Javier Elizondo has served as a professor at Texas A&M International University educating aspiring musicians through courses such as applied clarinet lessons, woodwind methods, music history, and music theory since the spring of 2022. In addition to his teaching career, Dr. Elizondo has maintained an active performing career, having performed coast-to-coast across the United States in historic venues from the California Theatre in San Jose to Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as internationally in Mexico and Portugal. He currently serves as co-principal clarinet of the Valley Symphony Orchestra and has also appeared with the Laredo Philharmonic and the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, performing alongside Grammy Award–winning and nominated artists. In addition to his classical work, Dr. Elizondo is also active as a jazz musician and has performed in the New Orleans area. Dr. Elizondo holds degrees from the University of Houston (B.M.), Colorado State University (M.M.), and Louisiana State University (D.M.A.).
