Scholarships to Attend Faculty-Led Conferences

TAMIU LSAMP is a National Science Foundation (NSF) program that focuses on fostering achievement in minority STEM students by aiding in the participation of enrichment activities such as undergraduate research. Undergraduate students within these eligible STEM majors can apply to obtain financial assistance to attend and present at faculty-led conferences (including virtual). Qualifying students may be able to receive up to $2,000 in financial assistance and this opportunity is open to all eligible TAMIU undergraduate STEM majors. Supplemental Instruction Sessions

TAMIU LSAMP sponsors Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions for STEM courses every semester. SI sessions are designed to help students by providing regularly scheduled, out of class study sessions. The sessions focus on active and collaborative learning methods to assist you in mastering course learning objectives. Professional and Academic Workshops

Every semester LSAMP provides students with a series of workshops for students interested in applying to graduate school programs. These workshops are led by faculty across the A&M system, keynote speakers from various fields and students across the A&M system. Some of the workshops available focus on Creating a Resume/CV, Writing a Compelling Personal Statement, Do's and Don'ts of Graduate School, and other field specific workshops. These workshops are open to all TAMIU students.

Summer Research Opportunities

TAMIU LSAMP is actively seeking research opportunities for STEM students to engage in. These research programs offer the opportunity to collaborate on research projects with professionals across the country and they provide exposure to STEM careers in different industries. Participating in a Summer Research Program gives you the opportunity to develop a student-mentor relationship with faculty and professionals from various institutions. Most of the programs offer a virtual option and most include a stipend for participating.
