C O M P U T E R L A B S
Every semester, our team con-
ducts a Student Survery to gain
insight on lab usage and user ex-
perience with our many computer
labs sprawled across campus. It
gives our team great pleasure
to be able to reflect on an over-
whelming positive feedback from
the students who willingly chose
to participate in last semester’s
survey.
The following information was collected from the student surveys:
Most student surveys were completed at Sky Bridge and the 2nd floor of the Killam Library.
Students reported homework and class as being their primary use for computer labs on campus.
91 percent of students rated the University’s computer equipment as either excellent, very good, or
good.
Labs assistants were rated between good and excellent by 96 percent of students.
Room accomodations like furniture, climate, and wall painting were rated between good and excel-
lent by 94 percent of students.
95 percent of students rated their overall experience using TAMIU labs being good, very good, or
excellent.
Some common suggestions from students about how to improve their experience with TAMIU labs
included faster computers, faster internet and Wi-Fi service, and adding more computers and printers.
