Treat the entire family to Disney Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” at the upcoming Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium Family Movie DaySaturday, March 12.

Show times are at noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m.

General admission is $3 and free to LBV Planetarium members.

“Finding Nemo” follows the adventures of Marlin, an overly cautious clownfish, as he searches for Nemo, his son. Accompanied by Dory, a forgetful but optimistic regal blue tang fish, Marlin’s search brings out his courageous side and takes him from Australia’s Great Barrier Reef to an aquarium in a dentist’s office.

“We are happy to give our audiences the opportunity to see this film on the biggest screen in town,” said Laura C. Jimenez, associate director, LBV Planetarium.

“The consensus among our visitors from previous Family Movie Days is that they have a great time with their family. They like that this is something new they can do with their children,” added Jimenez.

Visitors who must have a snack while watching a movie will be able to purchase items from a snack bar, which will include $1 items.

For those interested in going out without the kiddos, the LBV Planetarium has scheduled “Floyd After Dark,” a showing of all the LBV Planetarium’s Pink Floyd shows, including the release of the newest show “Wish You Were Here,” concluding with a concert by local band, Reborn.

“Floyd After Dark” is scheduled for Saturday, March 26 from 7 – 10 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students, faculty and staff with a TAMIU ID.

Admission to the concert is free with any ticket purchase.

The next Family Movie Day and Festival is scheduled for April 16 in celebration of the LBV Planetarium’s sixth anniversary.
