Distinguished Student Scholars Named for TAMIU Commencement Ceremonies

As is its tradition, Texas A&M International University has named its Distinguished Student Scholars for each College ceremony for its Spring Commencement Exercises.

Three ceremonies are scheduled Friday, May 22 at the Kinesiology Convocation Center.

Distinguished Student Scholars are nominated by their faculty for their respective College and selected by a University panel based on grade point average, interview and writing sample.

Representing the College of Arts and Sciences for undergraduate ceremonies scheduled at 10 a.m. is David S. Santos, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Business Management.

Scholar for the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business is Anthony B. Stahl, graduating with a 3.92 GPA with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Representing the College of Education at 6 p.m. will be Luís F. Ponte, an international student from Australia who is receiving a Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Sports and graduating with a 3.78 GPA.

Representing the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Dr. F. M. Canseco School of Nursing, also at the 6 p.m. ceremonies, is Chelsei E. Jarnagin, graduating with Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a 3.5 GPA.
