Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Online Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree program is one of the most affordable online MPA programs in the nation, according to online source, College Values Online (collegevaluesonline.com).

TAMIU’s Online MPA program ranks No. 13 in the Top 30 Values 2016-2017 (http://www.collegevaluesonline.com/rankings/graduate/mpa-online/).

According to College Values Online, the degree programs ranked were selected from among over 150 such degrees offered. All of the schools ranked are non-profit, regionally accredited schools.

The ranking methodology is simple in that it relies on the cost of attendance to determine the ranking, the site states.

“In addition to regional accreditation, some of the schools on this list boast accreditation by NASPAA (National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration), which is the foremost academic accreditation for public administration programs,” the site notes.

Dr. Peter Haruna, TAMIU professor of Public Administration and Government and director of Public Administration, said the new ranking is a point of pride for the MPA program.

“MPA faculty are very proud of this ranking and continue to dedicate themselves to high quality Public Administration education and training that prepares individuals for successful public service careers,” Dr. Haruna said.

One of the standout features of TAMIU’s Online MPA program is that it is NASPAA-Accredited, the site observes.

Applicants to the TAMIU NASPAA-accredited Online MPA program must satisfy three of the following criteria: minimum 3.0 GPA, three years management experience, performance on purpose essay, and performance on personal interview.

Some of the courses offered in TAMIU’s Online MPA program are survey of public administration and public affairs, public budgeting and financial management, communication for public administrators and public policy development and implementation.
