TAMIU SBDC Shows ‘Love’ For Small Business with Certificate Program Graduation Thursday

Texas A&M International University’s Small Business Development Center (TAMIU SBDC)  will present its Small Business Management Certificate Program (SBMCP) graduation ceremony Thursday, February 14 from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at Monte Carlo Reception Hall, on 6415 McPherson Road.

TAMIU SBDC will graduate its largest cohort in program history, 121 graduates. Graduates are current Laredo small business owners or aspiring small business owners.

“The TAMIU SBDC celebrates 10 years of its SBMCP program and its positive impact on our community,” said Michael González, TAMIU SBDC director,” “Many SBMCP alumni will attend and share their perspective on how the SBDC and the SBMCP have helped them achieve business success.”

The TAMIU SBDC is also celebrating various partnerships that support the SBMCP including its corporate affiliates and Laredo College, he said, and it looks forward to its graduates becoming community business influencers.

"The TAMIU SBDC has enjoyed unprecedented success over the past 10 years,” he said, “In addition to the high-quality advising and research it provides to current and future business owners, I believe that the training we offer is second to none in our state and among the best nationwide.”

González continued, "The success of the SBDC mirrors the success and interest of those in the community who have the entrepreneurial spirit and the work ethic necessary to attain small business success. We are truly grateful to all those who have utilized our program, implemented our tools and information, and as a result achieved significant business success."
