TAMIU Hosts ALPHA Symposium, Career Fair Saturday, Oct. 12

Texas A&M International University will host the Association for Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) this Saturday, Oct. 12 for its Central Region Student Symposium at TAMIU.  Some 400 students from 10 different universities are expected.

The Symposium includes nine workshops hosted by the FDIC, IRS, KPMG, RSM and Altria, and will be underway in the Student Center from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday only.

A Career Fair will feature Fortune 500 recruiters from KPMG, Ernest Young, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, RSM, IRS, US Customs, Border Patrol, Altria, IBC, HACU, HEB, C.H. Robinson, IRS, CIA, Nature’s Sweet Tomatoes, and more.

Established in Los Angeles in 1972, ALPFA is the first national Latino professional association in the United States. It has experienced steady growth throughout its 47-year history.  The organization continues to build upon its proud legacy with a mission: to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.

ALPFA, now head-quartered in Austin, TX, has some  92,000+ professional and student members across the country, with plans to grow aggressively to 100,000  in two years. In addition to networking and professional leadership development opportunities, members have access to 50,000 paid summer internships through hundreds of Fortune 1000 corporate partners. ALPFA aspires to be the business partner of choice for companies seeking to hire and develop Latino talent.
