TAMIU Director of Testing Services Martínez Named TACTP President-Elect
Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Alejandro Martínez, Jr. , director of Testing Services at TAMIU, has been named President-Elect of the Texas Association of Collegiate Testing Personnel (TACTP).
TACTP officers recognized Martínez’ long-standing history of working in testing in Texas, and said he would be a celebrated addition to the TACTP Board. He will oversee the Membership Committee.
Martínez has been director of Testing Services Center at TAMIU for 24 years. He has full charge of working with the Center's budget and growing it to its fullest potential. The Testing Center is part of TAMIU’s University College, which houses a broad range of academic support services and non-academic offerings.
He said he is looking forward to serving the TACTP.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be named TACTP president-elect and I’m excited to work with such a dedicated group of peer professionals. I’m especially eager to help advance understanding about the importance of testing and its critical role in student success, and to encourage other testing professionals to join our organization,” Martínez said.
TAMIU’s Testing Center is part of the Consortium of College Testing Centers, adheres to the National College Testing Association Professional Standards and Guidelines and meets all Educational Testing Service standards. It has been named one of the top College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Test Centers in the country.

TAMIU offices will close in a State-authorized holiday Monday, Dec. 23 - Thursday, Jan. 2.
Offices and the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library will reopen Friday, Jan. 3 at 8 a.m. The final day of full campus operation is Friday, Dec. 20, from 8 a.m. to noon.
