Halloween Fest Returns to TAMIU, Offers 35+ Booths

Halloween Trick or Treating

Halloween Fest came back!

The annual community festival ushers in spooky season and returned to Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Thursday, October 27, from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center lawn.

Admission was free and open to the public.

The Festival included over 35 food and activity booths entertaining children and adults of all ages, as well as free Halloween candy and trick-or-treating. Halloween Fest serves as a fundraising event for student organizations on campus. As such, tickets were available for purchase to enjoy food and activities.

Free offerings included three pumpkin patch scenescapes, inflatables, a DJ and a spooktacular Halloween costume contest. Age categories for the costume contests were 0 - 3, 4 - 8, 9 – 12, 13 -18 and TAMIU students.

Sponsored by the University’s Campus Activities Board and the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership, and Engagement, the event made its much-anticipated return after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

“We were thrilled to welcome the Laredo community to our campus to experience this premier student-led event at TAMIU. Halloween Fest is a family-friendly experience to entertain all who attend. Laredo and community support is vital to the success of the event each year as it continues to provide TAMIU students with real-world skill development that they may utilize later in their careers,” said Dr. Nicholas Hudson, program director of the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement.
