Several Summer Camps Offer Fun at TAMIU

If you’re looking for a summer activity for your child, look no further than Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) flurry of summer camps aimed at fostering fun and learning at the same time.
The following camps are scheduled this summer:
Dusty’s Junior University is happening June 5 – July 27, 2023. Four distinct camp sessions are offered that encourage a passion for knowledge and learning among young children. The Camp is geared for students from kindergarten through the 5th grade. Camp offerings are as follows: Session 1 – June 5 – 15(8 camp days); Session 2 – June 20 – 29 (7 camp days); Session 3 – July 3 – 13 (7 camp days); and Session 4 – July 17 – 27 (8 camp days).
Camps are held from 7:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., Monday –Thursday. Aftercare is available from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee.
Camp costs are $330 for a seven-camp day session or $400 with aftercare. An eight-camp day session is $375 or $455, with aftercare.

Interested in some fun in the sun? Our Rec Sports Camp is available for children ages 5 – 13, with Camp offered Mondays - Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 12 noon daily. The Camp begins Monday, June 5, and runs through Thursday, June 22, 2023.
Enrollment is now open. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 2. Spots are limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Rec Sports Summer Campers can participate in fun activities, including dance fitness, a Fine Arts showcase, leadership discussions, lifetime sports development, recreational games, and Word of the Day exercises.
The Rec Sports Summer Camp cost is $240 per child. TAMIU students, alumni, faculty, and staff members are eligible for a $30 discount.
Snacks are provided daily, and each camper receives a TAMIU Rec Sports Summer Camp T-shirt.

For up-and-coming student-athletes, an Athletics Women’s Basketball Camp is scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Camp is open to students in grades 9th – 12th and will be led by the University’s Women’s Basketball program members. The cost is $50.

Also scheduled later that same month is an Athletics Soccer Camp, happening Friday, June 24, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Camp is open to individuals ages 12 – 18 and is led by the University’s soccer program members. The cost is $85.

Musicians will take the stage during two distinct performing arts-based summer camps offered through the University’s Department of the Fine and Performing Arts.
A Summer Music Intensive Camp is scheduled for Monday, June 12 - Friday, June 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 5:10 p.m. Sessions are offered based on instrument and focus on the development of each student’s musical skills, such as basic sound production, sightreading, embouchure techniques and more. Students should bring their instruments, drum pads, and sticks. Music stands, and large percussion instruments are provided.

Ace your fall All-State Choir audition by getting a head start at the University’s Summer All-State Choir Camp. The four-day camp session is open to current high school students who will work alongside University music faculty and other talented clinicians as they work to improve their singing techniques and musicianship.
The Camp is scheduled from Monday, June 26 - Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 4 – 8 p.m. The cost of the camp session is $85. A $15 discount is available for high school students who register before May 31, 2023.
