TAMIU SBDC and IRS Partnership Provides Educational Resources for Professionals

Texas A&M International University's Small Business Development Center (TAMIU SBDC) has partnered with the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide low-cost workshops, webinars, and conferences to the community.

To kick off this collaboration, TAMIU SBDC and the IRS will present a day of educational sessions for tax professionals titled, the "Texas 2023 Regional Practitioners Meeting" Tuesday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at TAMIU.

Enrolled agents, Texas Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), tax attorneys, tax preparers and other tax professionals in Jim Hogg, Zapata, and Webb Counties will receive seven hours of continuing education units (CEUs) for attending.

Representatives from the IRS, Small Business Development Center, Texas National Association of Tax Professionals and The Texas Society of Enrolled Agents will discuss topics such as the Corporate Transparency Act, Ethics-Circular 230, What Tax Preparers Are Doing Wrong, Tax Reform: Inflation Reduction Act, and Working with the IRS.

In addition to these workshops, a panel discussion will provide attendees with the most recent tax updates while participants engage in a Q&A session.
