TAMIU Welcome Week Activities End With Fireworks Display

Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) annual Welcome Week festivities culminated with an exciting firework display during “Dusty’s Firework Extravaganza”  Friday, Sept. 1 at 10:30 p.m. at the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC). 

Before the fireworks display, TAMIU’s Campus Activities Board, a student organization promoting pride and tradition on campus,  hosted CABchella from 6 – 11 p.m. at the ZSC. The event included performances by D.J. Lemonbeatz, the Ricky Ram Band, Giovannelli, and Louiejayxx. 

Parking for the event was available at the Academic Innovation Center. The fireworks display was sponsored by the University’s Alumni Association.

Throughout the week, several activities celebrated the start of the Fall 2023 semester at the University. Highlights included caricature drawings, a bike tour, a first-year class photo, Loteria, a Mario Kart tournament, a meet-and-greet lunch with the VP of Student Engagement Rosalinda Garcia, a movie screening, student-centered info sessions, a volunteer and service fair, and much more. 

Welcome Week festivities were organized through the Division of Student Engagement, with support from University offices, departments, and student-centered groups.
