Closing Reception for Omid Shekari Art Exhibit Held

A closing reception for the exhibit “Seeking a Way Out”  by acclaimed Iranian artist Omid Shekari was held Sept. 15 at Texas A&M International University's  (TAMIU)  Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Gallery.

Shekari’s artwork delves into several mediums, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installations. Through his work, he explores how force and violence determine the rhythms of power structure while exploring the power dynamics under capitalism.

Previously, his artwork was exhibited at The Sculpture Center in Cleveland, Ohio; the NADA Art Fair in New York City, NY; the Fleisher Art Museum in Philadelphia, PA, and the Azad Art Gallery in Tehran, Iran, among other locations.

Shekari earned a BFA at Soore University in Tehran and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy for the Fine Arts. To view some of his previous work, visit https://www.omidshekari.com/
