Festive TAMIU Events Help Community Celebrate Holidays

Christmas Tree

A series of festive, holiday-themed events are scheduled at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).

Kicking off the holiday season are several musical performances throughout the latter half of November and December at the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. Musical performances are free and open to the public.

A Piano Studio Recital is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m., followed by an afternoon Music on the Menu concert on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 12:10 p.m.

A Mariachi Internacional Fall Concert is happening that same Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Ending this year’s musical performances is the 22nd annual Guitarras de Navidad Concert Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m.

TAMIU will also host its popular annual Tree Lighting Ceremony Thursday, Nov. 30 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library Front Lawn. The event’s festivities include elementary and middle school musical performances, festive holiday treats, games, photo locations, and a holiday market. The first 100 children in attendance will also receive a Santa hat. The annual celebration is free and open to the public.
