Texas A&M International University's Small Business Development Center (TAMIU SBDC) will host a free Workshop, “HUB Ready: From Certification to Contracts,” on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 8:30 a.m. at the TAMIU Academic Innovation Center, Room 125.

Open to entrepreneurs and business owners across all industries, the Workshop is designed to help small businesses in Laredo and surrounding areas better understand the State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) certification process and improve their ability to secure government contracts.

Attendees will enjoy a complimentary breakfast taco bar and opportunities to network with peers and industry experts.

The interactive Workshop will cover the procurement process, proposal development, and strategies for succeeding in a competitive bidding environment. The program will include a keynote session from B2G Victory that will guide participants through every stage of the contracting process, from identifying suitable opportunities to understanding proposal terminology and developing strong, persuasive proposals. The session is ideal for both beginners and those looking to improve their bidding strategy.

Also, a dedicated capability session will assist attendees in developing a professional capability statement, a key document commonly referred to as a company's resume. The session will introduce participants to key components of a strong statement, provide strategies for effective marketing to government agencies and large corporations, and explain how to use this tool during pre-bid meetings, networking events, and other procurement activities.

The event will conclude with a panel discussion with subject matter experts on bonding, financing, insurance and other topics. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the resources available to businesses as they navigate the government contracting process.

Advance registration is required. To register, visit go.tamiu.edu/sbdcevents.
