TAMIU to Host Summer PREP Program for Middle, High School Students

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will host the TAMIU Pre-Freshman Engineering Program (TAMIU PREP), a five-week summer program designed for motivated middle and high school students, from June 1 through July on the University campus.
The academically rigorous program immerses students in advanced mathematics, engineering concepts, coding, robotics, physics and technology applications. Participants take part in daily hands-on labs, team-based projects, problem-solving challenges and real-world design experiences.
Students enrolled in PREP will also engage in college-style coursework, hear from STEM professionals, explore career pathways and build academic confidence and leadership skills in a university setting.
Admission to the program includes a $40 entrance exam fee and a $360 program fee, which supports instructional materials, lab experiences and enrichment activities throughout the five-week program.
Hosted by The Office of Outreach and Pre-College Programs in collaboration with TAMIU’s College of Arts and Sciences Department of Engineering and Mathematics, TAMIU PREP continues to serve as a pipeline program that expands access to high-demand STEAM fields and prepares students for future academic success.
The program is open to middle and high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, architecture and mathematics. To register for the next entrance exam, please visit go.tamiu.edu/PREPTEST.
