TAMIU to Host Hate Ends Now Mobile Holocaust Experience as Part of Antisemitism Education Initiative

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), through its Office of Global & Community Engagement (GCE), will host the Hate Ends Now Mobile Holocaust Experience as part of its Antisemitism Education Initiative, funded through the Texas Historical Commission.
The event will take place April 25–27 at TAMIU with the following schedule. The experience will be located at the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library front lawn, with the complementary exhibit inside the Killam Library Colonnade.
Saturday, April 25: 12–6 p.m.
Sunday, April 26: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Monday, April 27 (students, faculty and staff): 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public, including students and educators.
The initiative reflects TAMIU’s commitment to serving as a social catalyst — advancing change and strengthening connections across the region, state, country and world through students, faculty and staff, said Dr. James O’Meara, dean, TAMIU Office of Global Community and Engagement.
“TAMIU’s Office of Global & Community Engagement (TAMIU GCE) leads this effort by fostering meaningful community engagement and creating opportunities for community members to participate in activities of personal and public concern that are both individually life-enriching and socially beneficial to the broader community,” O’Meara said. “Through the initiative, GCE convenes educators, students and community members in a shared learning experience designed to promote understanding, empathy and community engagement.”
The Hate Ends Now Mobile Holocaust Experience is housed inside a full-scale replica of a World War II cattle car and features a 360-degree immersive presentation alongside a rare collection of original Holocaust artifacts. The exhibit is designed to educate audiences about the Holocaust and the dangers of antisemitism, intolerance and racism.
Timed entry sessions will accommodate approximately 25 participants every 30 minutes. A complementary artifact exhibit will also be installed in the Killam Library Colonnade, supported by trained docents and coordinated campus and community engagement.
