Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Recreational Sports will host its annual Summer Camp for children, offering a fun, structured, and high-energy environment designed to keep kids active, social, and engaged.

The Camp, which is open to children between the ages of 5–13, will be offered in two distinct sessions.

The first session runs from June 1–11, with a second session planned for June 15–25. The Camp is happening Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with drop-off beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Campers will participate in a dynamic mix of activities including dancing, arts and crafts, group games, introductory tennis, and interactive experiences such as a planetarium visit and laser tag.

“What sets the Rec Sports Summer Camp apart is its focus on movement-based play, variety, and access to unique campus resources. Campers are not limited to one activity or theme. Instead, they experience a well-rounded program that blends recreation, creativity, and hands-on exploration,” said Robert H. Garza III, TAMIU Recreational Sports director.

Led by trained the University’s Recreational Sports staff, the camp emphasizes building confidence, encouraging social connection, and giving kids a chance to stay active in a safe and supportive setting.

Registration is $210 per session, with a discounted rate of $185 available for additional siblings registered under the same guardian. Camp registration includes daily snacks and a camp shirt.
