Requirements & Procedures
Apply for international admission if you will soon graduate from non-U.S. high school.
- Apply and Submit an application via Go ApplyTexas.
- Submit official high school transcript(s).
- Must be certified by a school official, contain the school seal, and be delivered in a sealed envelope to the Office of Admissions.
- Submit proof of English proficiency.
- The minimum score for Duolingo English Test: 100
- The minimum score for ibt TOEFL: 69
- The minimum score for IELTS: 5.5
- The minimum score for ACT ENGL: 20
- The minimum score for SAT EBRW: 520
- The minimum score for Pearson English Language (PTE Academic): 47
- Submit ACT (Code: 4215) and/or SAT (Code: 0359) scores.
- A minimum score of 980 Redesigned SAT (Combined Critical Reading and Math scores).
- A minimum score of 19 ACT Composite.
- A minimum score of 900 SAT (Combined Critical Reading and Math scores).
- Financial Documents - only for students requesting an I-20.
- Completed Financial Statement form.
- Submit the Sponsor’s Letter.
- Bank Affidavit***.
- International students transferring to TAMIU from another institution in the U.S. must submit:
- Foreign Student Advisor’s Report form.
- Copy of current I-20.
- Copy of current Visa and I-94.
- Health Insurance.
- International students are required to obtain a student health insurance plan approved by the Texas A&M University System.
- Register for classes.
- Submit all sections of attempted placement exams (TSI).
- Schedule appointment with Office of Recruitment & School Relations to register for classes.
Transfer Requirements
Students transferring with less than 24 college credit hours must meet International Freshman Requirements. Please see the requirements below.

Note: Applicants who've earned a high school diploma or are completing high school credits within two (2) semesters are considered freshman applicants. Admissions score minimums are based according to rank:

Office of International Experiences:
Upon completion of the application process, successful applicants will be issued an I-20. Students with an F-1 Student Visa are required to enroll full-time at Texas A&M International University. International Students are required to report any change in status immediately to the University Foreign Student Advisor located in the International Experiences department. Student Health Insurance
International students are required to obtain health insurance for the entire period they will be in the U.S.
Student Exchange
If you have an interest in attending TAMIU, first check with your home institution in regards to our partnership and application criteria. We cannot accept exchange students that have not been nominated by their home institution. If you are interested in participating in the exchange program, complete the following steps.

- English track majors: iBT TOEFL score of 61 or higher certified by home institution.

- Texas A&M International University's ETS code is 6838.

- *Bank Affidavit – affidavit must be issued on bank letter head with original signature. Must be dated within six month of the first enrollment according to the following dates:
- Fall Semester: January 1 or Later
- Spring Semester: May 1 or Later

**Sponsor Letter — letter should certify the following:
Sponsor’s commitment to pay educational, living, health, and personal expenses.
Letter must be dated within six months of the first enrollment: Fall Semester, January 1 or later, Spring Semester, May 1 or later.
Meningitis Form — all students under 22 years of age as of the first class date must submit proof of bacterial meningitis.
**You do not need to submit a sponsor letter if your bank statement is under your name.
**You may have up to two sponsors.
