Start this Fall at TAMIU
It's time to really rise and shine this Fall at Texas A&M International University.
That's because TAMIU will be offering students a chance to start their day early with "Bright Start" classes that begin at 7 and 8:30 a.m., providing a right start to accommodate busy working schedules while maintaining or speeding degree progress.
TAMIU vice president for Enrollment Management, Juan G. García, Jr., said the offering is consistent with TAMIU's commitment to meeting students at the intersection of needs and opportunity.
"Many of our students have family and work obligations that restrict their ability to take classes during those obligations. By starting our day earlier, we carve out a space for them to maintain their degree progress. Each of our Colleges and Schools and their gifted faculty have committed to 'Bright Start,' and have selected some of our most popular classes in a broad range of disciplines for early offer this Fall," García explained.
But it's not just an early start that TAMIU is delivering this Fall, he noted.
"A sister initiative, 'Night Start,' will expand on classes available at night to provide an additional class option after work and family obligations are addressed. 'Night Start' classes will be offered at 7:35 and 9:10 p.m.," García said.
"Both of these options, separate or combined, can really advantage our students and help them to graduate on to a better life. That better life can drive better futures, higher incomes, and greater opportunities. Getting up a little earlier or going to class later could be the right start to that better life," he observed.
