Signs and Symptoms of Stress in Students

  • Inability to concentrate
  • Excessive Procrastination
  • Infrequent class attendance
  • Little or no work completed or poorly prepared work
  • Inability to make decisions
  • Frequent nightmares, especially after traumatic events
  • Pronounced irritability
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Lack of energy
  • Changes in eating patterns
  • Sleep Disturbances
  • Bizarre or unusual behavior

Signs and Symptoms of Depression

  • Sadness lasting more than 2 weeks
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities
  • Sleeping more (or less) than normal
  • Rapid weight loss or weight gain
  • Loss of energy, feeling "slowed down"
  • Feelings of hopelessness, guilt, or worthlessness
  • Difficulty making decisions, or concentrating
  • Excessive crying or irritability
