| Language and Literacy for the Young Child |

| This course provides an understanding of the underlying theoretical principles related to the acquisition of language and literacy. Authentic assessment of children s progress in literacy is emphasized. Prerequisites: EDEC 1304 and 2324 and admission to the College of Education. (Formerly EDEC 3362) |
