EDGR 5325

Introductory Statistics in Education

Three semester hours.

This course introduces students to the basic tools of statistics. These tools are fundamental to understanding and conducting educational research. The course is designed to improve students' confidence in reading and interpreting quantitative research studies that include statistical analysis. It also provides opportunities for students to apply statistical tools to education and related social science data. The course covers descriptive statistics, inference from samples, hypothesis development and testing, and the basics of regression analysis. Prerequisite: EDGR 5320.
