The mission of the Faculty Advisory Council of Texas A&M International University is to foster a community of mutual respect and cooperation within the University, working to ensure effective communication and collaboration between faculty and administration. The Faculty Advisory Council is empowered to act as the representative and resolving authority of the faculty, and it facilitates faculty participation in shared governance which includes making recommendations to the President and the Provost in matters that concern faculty.

The Faculty Advisory Council comprises elected and appointed representatives from the colleges. The Presiding Officer, Associate Presiding Officer, and Secretary are appointed by the President of TAMIU. The Parliamentarian/Elections Officer is elected by members of the Faculty Advisory Council
