TAMIU BBQ and Car Show

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Athletics is hosting its Second Annual Building Homes for Heroes Baseball/Softball BBQ Party and Car Show Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the TAMIU Outdoor Sports Complex.

Admission is free of charge and open to the public.

This marks the seventh year that TAMIU Athletics has hosted a military appreciation fundraising event. Saturday’s event will include TAMIU Dustdevil Baseball and Softball games, a BBQ plate sale prepared by Laredo’s Brothers In Smoke, a beer tent provided by L&F Distributors,  an off-road Jeep show, a drawing for valuable prizes (including a grill), custom car displays, children’s activities including inflatable bouncers, and food and drinks for the family.

Recruiters from the U.S. Border Patrol and Office of Field Operations will also be on-site displaying various assets within their department, including a horse, bike and boat patrol, as well as the K9 Unit.

Tasty barbecue plates will be $7 each and will include the choice of a smoked brisket or pork sandwich with chips and a drink.

All proceeds benefit Building Homes for Heroes, a nonprofit that provides mortgage-free homes to severely injured military members.
