TAMIU Ranked 5th in Nation for Affordability, Highest ROI
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) has been ranked 5th in nation among the 100 Most Affordable Public Schools with the Highest Return on Investment (ROI) by ranking authority Great Value Colleges.
The ranking utilizes data collected from College Navigator regarding tuition, as well as program information gleaned directly from each institution’s official website. For this ranking, in addition to affordable tuition (net price), TAMIU’s 40-year ROI and national recognition as a top public school figured prominently in its score and ranking.
TAMIU’s recent ROI ranking by Georgetown University in its publication- A First Try at ROI: Ranking 4,500 Colleges, was also considered. That ranking showed that TAMIU graduates are projected to earn $1,006,000 more 40 years after graduation.
TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz said this latest ranking strongly affirms the University’s mission, role and value to its graduates.
“We know that cost and excellence are often at odds at most institutions of higher education. Our commitment to affordability and program excellence is clearly affirmed by this ranking. We challenge our students and they regularly surpass that challenge. We do this because we know that the transformative value of higher education will change their lives and those of their families for generations. In this, our 50th Anniversary year, it’s great to be able to proudly show how we ‘Go Beyond,’ ” Dr. Arenaz said.
Arenaz noted that the only US institutions outranking TAMIU in the Great Value Colleges ranking were located in New York State and California.
“The only other Texas institution ranked for affordability and ROI in the Top 25 was the University of Texas-Permian Basin at No. 11,” Arenaz said.
Janet McCauley of Great Value Colleges shared additional insight on TAMIU’s ranking.
“TAMIU, which placed 5th, was selected not only for the program’s affordability and ROI, but also for the institution’s overall outstanding reputation, its faculty’s excellence, and the unerring commitment to providing students a high-quality education… and in doing so, giving them all the tools that they need to achieve their future career goals,” she said.
McCauley said Great Value Colleges compiles the ranking annually to contribute to the academic mission of higher learning institutions.
“We provide pertinent, unbiased information for prospective students and working professionals to aid them in making more informed decisions as they seek to further their education. Affordable public colleges pack a large return on investment in the long run,” she observed.
