Student members of Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Student Government Association (SGA) hosted  two on-campus events to better get to know candidates for local races.

The Mayoral Town Hall event was Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. An event for City Council candidates was held Wednesday, Oct. 19.

SGA spokesperson, student Maximiliano Prado, explained the purpose of both events.

“We invite all students and the public to get to know the candidates running in the upcoming election for mayoral and City Council races. This will be an opportunity to learn about everyone’s campaign, and engage by asking questions,” Prado said.

The SGA is an official TAMIU student organization, one of over 100 student clubs and organizations that contribute to the campus’ vibrant student life.
