Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will recognize its historically largest number of candidates for graduation with Fall Commencement Ceremonies scheduled Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 at the Sames Auto Arena.

Some 1,166 candidates for graduation are scheduled to participate in two ceremonies at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. respectively. The 11 a.m. ceremony will feature undergraduate and graduate candidates for degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences and University College.  The 4 p.m. ceremony will feature candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees from the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, the College of Education, and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz said that recognizing the University’s largest graduating class is an historic honor.

“Graduation is of course a culmination of the students’ degree journey, but this Class, like the previous class, has endured the challenge of the Pandemic…and persevered.  While we take great pride in being accessible and affordable…this is when we affirm that TAMIU students are quite exceptional.  I’m deeply honored to see each and every one cross the stage and step into a brightened future,” Dr. Arenaz said.

Providing the Commencement Address for candidates for graduation is Texas A&M University System Regent of the Board, Miguel A. “Mike” Hernández of Fort Worth.  Hernández is owner and CEO of D&M Leasing, and owner and dealer principal of Four Stars Ford, Four Stars Chevrolet Buick, Four Stars Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, and Four Stars Toyota.
